EDU - CLAY
EQuipping kids to Thrive!

Confidence. Optimism. Resilience.
The greatest gifts you can give your child -  setting them up for a happy life

Welcome

Edu Clay is all about guiding your child to make the best choices that will lead to a happy, fulfilled childhood and adulthood.  When children are relaxed, like they experience when interacting with clay, they are able to brainstorm EQ topics within the group and experience huge learning from the other potters. The statistics show that children who are better EQuipped in EQ skills, have a marked reduction in chance of developing the unhappy traits of teenagers and adults - those debilitating challenges such as depression and a feeling of never being up to standard. Statistics also show that parenting plays the largest role in breaking this pattern. Parents are encouraged to let their children make decisions, whether the best or lesser, and allow their children to experience the consequences. If we would do only this for our children, allowing them to learn at their own pace within the security of our love and non-judgement, we would be setting our children up for the happiest, most fulfilled life they can lead.

Content, Responsible and Compassionate adults.

PROJECTS

Projects include Paper Clay, Freeplay Paper Clay and Papier Mache. This has allowed me to become totally fluid in my project choices - making some wearable art. Clay pots will not be made to fire in 2012.

PRE PRIMARY PROJECTS:
More time will be given to freeplay items in 2012 encouraging children to express themselves in their own unique way.   Also, a closer look at developing fine motor skills in preparation for grade 1. Activities will be fun making it easy for your child to develop.

Grades will also be divided to ensure age-appropriate self confidence.

Projects are also more play-with-it based rather then it becoming an ornament on a shelf. This boosts self confidence and exploration.

SENIOR PROJECTS:
Self Interpretation is emphasized. This way your child can express him/herself freely within the project theme. This is vital for continued growth in self confidence.
